Specialising in the design of electronic products

A multidisciplinary design office

Description

Fully integrated within TRONICO’s French and Moroccan sites, the Design teams are experts in electronic design, including design for test and design for manufacturing, throughout your product’s creation cycle. From specification to industrialisation, via mock-ups (or Proof of Concept – feasibility), architecture, prototyping, integration, validation or qualification, TRONICO engineers support your projects according to your needs for printed circuits, complex assemblies with a predominance of electronics, and integrated finished products.

With skills in power electronics, mechanics, thermics, hardware, software, CAD and biotechnology, the design office advises on the various engineering rules and standards for the different fields of innovative technological applications: land mobility and aeronautics, medical, biotechnology and defence.

Bénéfices

An agile team

Set up in 1998, the design office has around a hundred engineers, based in France at the head office in Saint-Philbert-de-Bouaine, and in Morocco in Tangiers and Rabat.

These multi-skilled engineering teams are trained in the agile approach. They value people and interactions over processes and tools, operational solutions over exhaustive documentation, and favour collaboration with customers and response to change over contractual negotiations and adherence to the plan. This was particularly important during the MakAir open-source respirator project, around the Makair for Life spontaneous collective, made up of 120 people with complementary skills.

Numerous partnerships and joint projects

TRONICO’s multi-disciplinary design office has been CIR-accredited since 30 June 2010.

With the creation of the innovation unit in 2009, the engineers have forged numerous partnerships and taken part in several collaborative projects:

  • the MEGaN project as part of the PSPC – Development of the French GaN technology electronic module industry – with CEA LETI in 2013
  • GENOME project: PIA project – Optimised Energy Management – for the More Electrical Aircraft in 2013
  • HyTrac project to create a technology chain for hydrogen production and electro-hydrogen powertrains for captive fleets of 100-300 kW vehicles, BPI France 2014
  • EVABIONORM project with OREAL to measure the biodegradability of molecules (Single Interministerial Fund) in 2015
  • RECOME project to improve the reliability of electronic components for implanted medical use in 2020 with Tame-Component
  • the AMBIMED project to develop a production offer and associated services for the manufacture of the most critical implantable electronic medical devices

Co-design

Our Research and Development department will support you throughout the creation cycle of your product, from specification to industrialisation:

  • specification of requirements
  • mock-up or proof of concept
  • architecture
  • design, including Design for testability and Design for Manufacturing
  • prototyping
  • integration
  • validation or qualification
  • industrialisation

The R&D teams are able to work on a Build to spec basis, building and designing according to our customers’ specifications, or as part of TRONICO’s own products under the Tame-Power or Tame-Care brand names. They work in dedicated platforms for major programmes: development of theE-FAN X, industrialisation of the CARMAT core, DCDC converters for the STELLANTIS group, etc.

Ressources

Human capital

Our design office employs around a hundred people, from technicians and engineers to PhDs in electronics, mechanics, thermal engineering, software and biotech, based in France and Morocco. These experts, who contribute to the development of Tronic’s human capital, are divided into several divisions: digital-software / medical electronics / electronics / IVVQ, Projects, Mechanics, Tests, Biotechnologies. Some of the company’s cutting-edge expertise is as diverse as RF and antenna design, MICS communication, water quality analysis using bioassays, HMI design and test benches.

Equipment

To carry out its work, the design office uses the following equipment:

  • 3 ISO7 clean rooms
  • 1000 square metres dedicated to research and development
  • Power electronics
  • Medical electronics
  • Biotechnology
  • Component engineering laboratory
  • Material list

Regulatory constraints

The experts provide assistance to customers thanks to their intimate knowledge of standards and regulatory frameworks:

  • CE, UL marking
  • E marking
  • IEC 62304
  • DO-254, DO-178, DO-160
  • MIL-STD-810
  • FIDES
